"My name is Costel... I am 14 years old, I was born on December 3rd 1989. I was placed at first in an orphanage because my parents had no means to support me.
When I was three years old my mother gave me to the orphanage in Galati together with my older brother.
When I was four years old some Scottish people came to sponsor the orphanage and they felt sorry for me when they saw my leg and they decided to take me to Scotland to fix my leg. I was in Scotland for two years and a half, I had three surgeries but they still couldn’t fix my leg.
When I was six years and a half they brought me back to the orphanage in Galati.
When I was nine years old I was transferred to a different orphanage in Galati where I discovered my talent for painting.
Last Fall when I heard there was a test being given at the Art School for a painting class I went. I was shy and didn’t think I will pass the test to be accepted into the Art Oasis painting class. I was very glad when I heard I had passed the test because I felt the need to learn to paint with some excellent professors.
I was happy, I was very happy.
During the first class I was not in very good shape, but then I got to know everybody better and now we’ve become friends, like in a family."
